01 / WHAT IT BUILT
What the company did
Lyfa was a Basel-based zero-waste online supermarket founded in 2019 by Michael May and Lewys Thomas. It delivered around 250 grocery products in reusable packaging instead of single-use packaging, collecting empties on the next delivery to create a circular packaging loop, with next-day delivery across Switzerland and Liechtenstein. Backed by Rockstart and the Swiss Startup Group, it entered liquidation in October 2022.
