01 / WHAT IT BUILT
What the company did
Intrro was a London and Tbilisi-based HRtech startup founded by Nasser Oudjidane and Neel Shah that built an employee referral platform for collaborative hiring. Using machine learning, the software scanned employees' social and professional networks to identify possible candidates for open roles, enabling human 'warm intros' before recruiters took over. The B2B platform grew 20x in revenue in 2021 and powered referral hiring at companies including Airwallex, Riskified, Faire, ApplyBoard and Typeform. It raised $500,000 in a pre-seed round led by 500 Startups in 2020 and $2.2 million in a seed round led by Signals VC in November 2021. No failure event has been reported.
