What the company did

Stereomood was an Italian emotional internet radio founded in 2009 in Rome. Instead of genres, it streamed music matched to the listener's mood or activity - 'snuggle', 'studying', 'lost in thought' - serving mood-tagged playlists built from the wisdom of the crowd, with music pulled from over 150 blogs and music sites. Founded by Daniele Novaga, Maurizio Pratici, Eleonora Viviani, Giovanni Foglietta, Daniele Giliberto, and Claudio Gallo, it raised a $100,000 seed round in January 2012 from Innogest Capital and Italian Angels and reached about 1 million monthly unique users. After six years, the founders announced in February 2015 that they were no longer involved: the company and its technology had been acquired, and operations of the consumer service ceased.

   Toward the end of 2014 the service ceased operation; in February 2015 the founders posted a final message announcing that after six years they were no longer involved - the company and its technology had been acquired by a party that did not continue the consumer business.
