01 / WHAT IT BUILT
What the company did
Job Protocol is a London-based Web3 recruitment platform founded in 2022 by Jacob Claerhout and Boris Gordts, building a decentralized recruiting economy. Companies list open roles with a referral bounty — paid in USDC once a candidate stays beyond 90 days — incentivizing anyone, human or machine, to refer top talent. The platform connects employers with an ecosystem of talent partners: freelance recruiters, agencies, communities, job boards and HR-tech businesses, with smart contracts making referral terms transparent and tamper-proof. It raised a €1.5 million pre-seed round on November 8, 2022, backed by Tioga Capital, Portal Ventures, Syndicate One and angel investors, and launched officially the same day.
