01 / WHAT IT BUILT
What the company did
ScanX (スキャン・エックス株式会社) was a Tokyo-based startup founded in October 2019 by CEO Satoshi Miyatani and CTO Tran Hong. It built ScanX, an AI-powered online point-cloud processing application that automatically classifies 3D point-cloud data and overlays it with 3D design data, streamlining construction site analysis and progress management — from earthwork volume calculations to tree analysis. The software ran entirely in a web browser, with automatic noise removal and deep-learning-based classification. Its technology later became part of the Zenrin Group offering through LocusBlue.
