01 / WHAT IT BUILT
What the company did
The legacy MindMaze group was a Swiss neurotechnology company founded in 2012 in Lausanne by neuroscientist Tej Tadi, spun out of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (EPFL). It built a digital neurotherapeutics platform combining virtual reality, motion capture, biosensing and AI to help patients recover from stroke, traumatic brain injury and neurological disorders, with products such as MindMotion Go and MindPod cleared by the FDA and CE-marked. The company raised several large rounds, including $100 million in 2016 and $125 million in 2021, and was once regarded as Switzerland's first unicorn. In 2025, NeuroX acquired the operations and intellectual property of the legacy MindMaze group, including the MindMaze brand, and proposed a business combination with Relief Therapeutics, which was renamed MindMaze Therapeutics and listed on SIX Swiss Exchange.
