Haomo.AI
The business, the turning points, and the decisions behind them.
01 / WHAT IT BUILT
What the company did
Haomo.AI was an autonomous driving startup spun off from Great Wall Motor's in-house intelligent-driving unit in November 2019. Backed by Great Wall as its principal investor and customer, it developed the HPilot driver-assist and autonomous-driving system, which was installed in more than 20 GWM-brand models across the WEY, Tank and Haval lineups, and also supplied systems to Beijing Hyundai, Toyota and BMW.
02 / Haomo.AI FAILURE REASONS
Failure reasons
Haomo.AI collapsed when its parent customer abandoned it. Its urban NOA program slipped repeatedly, and in late 2023 the WEY Blue Mountain replaced it with a rival solution from DeepRoute.ai. GWM halted Haomo's planned Hong Kong IPO in late 2024, invested $100 million in DeepRoute.ai, and shifted advanced driving programs to Momenta. With its core OEM partnership gone, the company suspended all operations on November 24, 2025 with frozen accounts and months of unpaid salaries.
