01 / WHAT IT BUILT
What the company did
Navengage was a Conshohocken, Pennsylvania-based edtech startup founded in April 2020 by Penn State alumni Andrew Strause (CEO), Dan Lordan and Colleen McBride. It built a mobile-first student engagement app that gathers a university's events, student organizations, campus resources and connections into one personalized platform to boost student engagement and retention; Penn State was one of its first customers, and it counted 15,000 student users. In September 2022 it raised a $1.3 million seed round led by Ben Franklin Technology Partners and Nelnet. Navengage was later acquired by Pathify, a higher education digital engagement hub, and now operates as an operating subsidiary.
