01 / WHAT IT BUILT
What the company did
Appiterate was a mobile marketing automation platform founded in 2013 by Anuj Bhargava, Mayank Kumar, Tanuj Mendiratta and Varun Sharma. It began as a WYSIWYG drag-and-drop editor for instant publishing and A/B testing on iOS and Android apps, then expanded into smart push notifications, in-app messaging and app analytics. It helped e-commerce and travel companies target users one-on-one through push notifications and in-app messages — sending roughly 100 million targeted notifications a month — and raised over $500,000 from SAIF Partners and angels including former Facebook executive Greg Badros.
