What the company did
Hier Foods was a Berlin-based food-tech startup founded by Lara Hammerle and Mark Jager. It built infrastructure connecting food retailers and local suppliers, making buying and selling frictionless: a mobile app and integrations linked existing systems on both sides to exchange product and price comparisons, orders, dispatch notifications and invoices digitally. The goal was to enable decentralised, local and resilient food supply chains by bringing more local specialty products into retail. It raised a €7 million seed round in December 2021 to expand across Europe.
