01 / WHAT IT BUILT
What the company did
Ultimate, founded in Helsinki in November 2016 and later headquartered in Berlin, built AI agents for customer support. Its platform parsed historical chat data and knowledge bases to resolve up to 80 percent of support requests automatically across chat, messaging and email, in over 100 languages. Enterprise customers included Finnair, Zalando, Taskrabbit and Lush. The company raised over $25 million, including a $20 million Series A in December 2020 led by OMERS Ventures, and employed about 140 people before Zendesk acquired it in March 2024.
