What the company did

Beams (Beams Technology GmbH) was a Berlin-based AI startup founded in 2020 by Alan Sternberg, a former SoundCloud, Spotify and N26 employee. It began as an audio-based social media platform - up to 90 seconds of voice recordings shared in groups, with a zero-'likes' policy meant to keep conversations authentic - and raised a $6 million seed round led by TheVentureCity. It then pivoted into AI-powered safety risk management for aviation organizations: its Safety AI solution automated safety data processing and enabled proactive, predictive risk management, and it became a technology partner of ASQS, a market leader in safety, risk and compliance management. In August 2025 the company was acquired by Comply365, a portfolio company of Insight Partners and Liberty Hall Capital Partners.
