01 / WHAT IT BUILT
What the company did
Covetly was a collectibles marketplace founded by Reid Nahm and Brian Law in New York City and backed by Y Combinator's Summer 2017 batch. Billed as the '#1 Collectibles Marketplace,' it was a platform for collectors and hobbyists to browse, trade, buy, and sell rare, unique, and bizarre items - from Star Wars Kenner and My Little Pony to G.I. Joe, Transformers, Funko, Amiibo, Tokidoki, Skylanders, and Mighty Jaxx. The marketplace was built on top of an inventory management and appraisal tool: collectors could organize their collections, get appraisal price ranges based on real transactions, and set price alerts on their want lists. Y Combinator marks the company Inactive.
