01 / WHAT IT BUILT
What the company did
Moonshot Brands is a US e-commerce brand aggregator founded in 2020 by CJ Isakow and Allan Fisch. Unlike aggregators that bought brands for EBITDA with debt, Moonshot positioned itself as a boutique company that invited entrepreneurs to join and keep running their own brands — focused on Amazon and direct-to-consumer brands, initially in the mobility and action sports sectors. In March 2022 it secured $30 million in equity (led by Anthemis, with YC Continuity and Garage Capital) plus a $150 million credit facility from Victory Park Capital, used in part to buy assets from failing aggregators (including Product Labs brands La Scoota and WOD Nation); at that time it held nine brands including Magneto Boards. No shutdown, bankruptcy or acquisition has been reported.
