What the company did
PANDA GmbH is a Hamburg-based industrial AI startup that enables AI in manufacturing by providing edge-based machine and sensor data for immediate AI deployment. Starting as a university spin-off offering AI services to industrial manufacturing plants, it shifted to becoming a provider of machine, camera and sensor data stored on edge devices, accessible to any qualified industrial algorithm via the cloud. It targets medium to large producers of medical devices, meeting demand for quality-assurance tools under EU regulations (quality assurance, condition monitoring, predictive maintenance). It raised a €1.3 million seed round in December 2019 from High-Tech Gründerfonds and IFB Innovationsstarter, and a venture round in March 2023 from MBG Schleswig-Holstein.
