01 / WHAT IT BUILT
What the company did
Jedlix was a Rotterdam-based smart charging startup launched in November 2015 as a spin-out of Dutch energy company Eneco. It developed a Vehicle-to-Grid Integration (VGI) platform that optimized the charging and discharging of electric vehicles, inserting them into the power grid at scale: the smartphone app advised EV drivers when electricity was greenest and cheapest, offering rewards (around 2 eurocent per kWh) for charging smartly. Partnering with energy companies, charge point operators and car makers across the Netherlands, Belgium, France and more, it claimed a community of over 19,000 registered users and raised €5 million. No failure event has been reported.
