- Founded
Brooke Markevicius founds Allobee in Durham, North Carolina, in May 2020 — a managed marketplace connecting small businesses and startups with a vetted workforce of experienced professional women for services like bookkeeping, tech assistance, podcast editing, website development, graphic design, and social media.
- Seed funding
In January 2021, Allobee raises $500,000 in a round led by Stargazer Ventures and angel investors to fund customer acquisition, brand awareness, and engineering hires.
- Acquihired by The Riveter
After funding prospects go dark in summer 2022, Markevicius pursues acquisition; talks with The Riveter, a working women's network, begin in October 2022 and close by year-end in an acquihire. The Allobee platform and team move in-house at The Riveter, with Markevicius becoming chief product officer.
