What the company did
Rebolet was a Berlin-based startup founded in 2018 that offered an all-in-one reselling service for e-commerce returns and overstock — one of the costliest and most wasteful problems in online retail, with around 15% of goods returned or never sold. As a consignment service, Rebolet took in, assessed and resold returned and excess items, using a proprietary algorithm to decide the best sales channel for each item, and planned to move customers off third-party marketplaces like Amazon and eBay onto its own native marketplace. The company aimed for fully sustainable operations, recycling or donating whatever could not be resold, and went through accelerators including Alchemist, Brinc and Startupbootcamp.
