01 / WHAT IT BUILT

What the company did

TradeGecko was a Singapore-based inventory and order management SaaS for small and mid-sized e-commerce businesses. Founded in 2012 — entering public beta that October — by New Zealander Carl Thompson and brothers Cameron and Bradley Priest, it grew out of the JFDI.Asia accelerator and raised a $6.5 million Series A in April 2015 led by NSI Ventures and Jungle Ventures. The cloud platform handled multi-warehouse stock, orders and fulfillment with native integrations to Shopify, WooCommerce and Xero, and was named one of Asia's most innovative B2B software providers at the Red Herring Asia 100. On August 4, 2020, Intuit announced it would acquire TradeGecko for more than $80 million, rebranding it as QuickBooks Commerce.
