01 / WHAT IT BUILT
What the company did
TOKIGAMES was a Singapore-based B2B2C provider of 'fan engagement as a service,' founded in 2017 by Mervyn Lau, Benedict Goh, Matthews Chang and Warren Goh. It innovated, developed and provided white-labeled gamified platforms and spectator games for esports and sports brands — including Intel, HP Omen, ONE Esports and AFTV — to help them acquire, retain and monetize audiences by turning passive spectators into active participants in live matches. It raised $4.25 million in seed funding; in April 2022 the entire team of 14 was acqui-hired by zujuGP, Singapore billionaire Peter Lim's digital football platform.
