Good Glamm Group
The business, the turning points, and the decisions behind them.
01 / WHAT IT BUILT
What the company did
The Good Glamm Group was an Indian content-to-commerce beauty conglomerate that built a house of brands through aggressive acquisitions, including MyGlamm, Sirona, The Moms Co., Organic Harvest, St. Botanica, POPxo and ScoopWhoop. Founded by Darpan Sanghvi, Priyanka Gill and Naiyya Saggi, it became one of India's first beauty-commerce unicorns with a $1.26 billion valuation in 2021, backed by investors such as Warburg Pincus, Prosus Ventures and Bessemer Venture Partners.
02 / Good Glamm Group FAILURE REASONS
Failure reasons
Good Glamm collapsed under the weight of its acquisition-fueled expansion: mounting debt, high operational costs and a failure to achieve profitability. A critical rescue acquisition fell through in early 2025, triggering a cash crunch that left April and May 2025 salaries unpaid and vendors in arrears. Leadership churn, including the exit of co-founders and investor-nominated board members, compounded the crisis. After months of failed restructuring, lenders enforced a brand-wise asset sale, and the group's valuation fell about 90% to roughly $120 million, with liabilities estimated at Rs 250 crore.
