01 / WHAT IT BUILT
What the company did
LiteSheet Solutions (founded 2012, Forest, Virginia, CEO Roger Whyte) was the 'Adaptive AC LED Technology company' — it pioneered a U.S.-patented AC-direct LED design that eliminated the failure-prone DC power supply, giving its troffer fixtures up to a 15-year warranty and efficiency over 140 lm/W. Products were DLC-qualified LED troffer families for offices and industrial spaces, made 100% in the United States, and during COVID the company launched a UV-C disinfecting cabinet (validated at Virginia Tech's Class 3 virology lab) that killed surface pathogens in under 60 seconds.
