01 / WHAT IT BUILT
What the company did
Swift Anchors was a Scottish anchoring and mooring technology company based in Edinburgh, developed alongside Sustainable Marine's pioneering floating tidal energy work. It built faster, more cost-effective mooring installation systems for highly energetic tidal sites with very short working windows - large helical screw anchors for sand, shingle and clay seabeds, rock anchors for various rocks, and grouted piles for mixed seabed geologies, plus the remotely operated rock anchor installation system AROV2. In 2022 Sustainable Marine sold the Swift Anchors business to AQUOS SCHOTTEL Marine Technologies GmbH, a newly formed subsidiary of its largest shareholder SCHOTTEL; the combined business later became SCHOTTEL Marine Technologies, targeting floating wind, floating solar, tidal, wave, and aquaculture markets.
