What the company did
TrueOcean GmbH is a Kiel, Germany marine-data company founded in 2019. Its cloud-based marine data platform (MDP) consolidates underwater sensor data — multibeam echosounders, side-scan sonars, magnetometers, sub-bottom profilers, lidar, optical and SAR satellite sensors — from any manufacturer into a unified, cloud-optimized format, turning raw survey data into actionable, shareable insight in near real time with automated analytics. Built for the wind-energy, subsea-survey and offshore-contracting sectors, it was developed as a comprehensive data warehouse for marine data management, sharing and large-scale analysis. The platform remains active, with the team presenting at the HYDRO 2024 hydrographic conference.
