01 / WHAT IT BUILT
What the company did
Shout was a location-based social networking app developed by Spangle Inc., a startup founded by Trinity College graduate Charlie Mullan together with Supriyo Roy and Gabe Gajecki, both former Amazon employees. Billed as "Instagram meets Yik Yak," Shout let users post photos, questions, and tips restricted to a specific location - from a building or campus to a 25-mile radius - so content only reached people nearby. The company raised $2 million in seed funding from angels including Robert Wolf and Shane McMahon to build the app.
