01 / WHAT IT BUILT
What the company did
RedEye Apps was a Brisbane-based SaaS company founded in 2012 by Wayne Gerard and Randall Makin. Its cloud and mobile platform, RedEyeDMS, managed 'as-built' engineering data — drawings and associated documents — for owners of critical infrastructure: water and power utilities, governments, mining and resources companies, hospitals, transport providers and telecom networks. Later products covered asset and work management, bushfire risk management (software forecasting bushfire spread and intensity) and digital-twin solutions. First client BHP Billiton was followed by Arrow Energy on a $500,000 contract, and the company grew to six offices globally helping clients manage over $250 billion in assets.
