01 / WHAT IT BUILT
What the company did
Behaviol was a Sydney-based tech company co-founded by Sri Lankan cricket legend Kumar Sangakkara together with entrepreneurs Dr Dinuk Jayasuriya, Reza Magdon-Ismail and Krishan Deegalla (CEO). It aimed to democratise sporting entertainment in the metaverse by combining Web3, artificial intelligence and NFT technologies: players could buy, train and nurture virtual sports stars - AI athletes that learn, adapt in real time and improve with every match. Its flagship game was Meta 11, a cricket-based entertainment platform bringing fantasy-sport-style competition to the metaverse. The company emerged from stealth with a $2.5 million seed round led by Hangar X in 2022, backed by sports and Web3 investors.
