01 / WHAT IT BUILT
What the company did
Soundwave was a Dublin-based music discovery app: it showed what music people were listening to around them and in their social circles, and helped users find new tracks through their friends' listening habits. Co-founded by Craig Watson and Brendan O'Driscoll, the app was recognised by both Apple and Google as a stand-out app and was praised by figures such as Steve Wozniak and Stephen Fry. It only recently started monetising, with a number of early trial B2B customers in the music space using its technology and IP to understand how people consumed music on mobile devices.
