01 / WHAT IT BUILT

What the company did

PT Investree Radhika Jaya (Investree), founded in Jakarta in 2015 by Adrian Gunadi, was one of Indonesia's largest SME peer-to-peer lenders: a licensed platform for invoice and working-capital financing that connected individual lenders with small businesses. It grew into a major fintech player in the country's SME credit market before its license was revoked in 2024.

02 / Investree\Indonesia FAILURE REASONS

Failure reasons

Investree lost its license and its leader. On 21 October 2024 Indonesia's Financial Services Authority (OJK) revoked its business license for breaching the minimum-equity rule amid deteriorating performance, including a reported 16% non-performing-loan ratio. Earlier, law enforcement pursued the former CEO over allegations of illegal fund collection, and he was later detained and jailed. With its license gone, shareholders voted in March 2025 to dissolve and liquidate.
