BeWell Digital was a healthtech startup founded in 2021 by Alagiri Senthilkumar and Vishnu Vardhana Balu, accepted into Y Combinator's Winter 2021 batch. Registered in Coimbatore/Bengaluru, India, it set out to build an operating system for the country's hospitals, labs, clinics and pharmacies - starting with insurance regulatory compliance (helping facilities obtain and renew NABH accreditation, maintain records and patient medical history). The team pivoted after Demo Day into teleradiology: a digital platform letting radiologists read patient reports from anywhere at any time, with advanced reporting tools to improve turnaround times, priced at Rs 25-40 per scan and $1,000-$10,000 annual subscriptions. It onboarded 22 hospitals in Karnataka and Tamil Nadu and ran pilot tests at 15 hospitals in 2021, and raised $75,700 via equity crowdfunding in October 2021.
