01 / WHAT IT BUILT
What the company does
Rig.dev is a Copenhagen-based developer tools company founded in 2023 by Thor Christensen and Anders Johnsen (a former developer at Uber and Google). It builds an open-source application platform on Kubernetes: a developer-first deployment engine that simplifies rolling out, managing, debugging and scaling applications, with a Dashboard, CLI and CI/CD pipelines integrating with GitHub Actions, plus APIs for user management, authentication, storage and databases. In September 2023 it raised a $2.2 million (€2 million) pre-seed round — one of the largest ever in Denmark — led by byFounders with Dreamcraft, NP-Hard Ventures and TinyVC. Note: the company appears active with no failure evidence — it may not belong in a failure museum.
