01 / WHAT IT BUILT
What the company did
LitPic was a Seattle-based creator-economy social network co-founded by Maurice (Sok) Yi, Ryan Lewis and Dena Lawless, with CMO Andy Karuza. Its all-in-one app combined social networking with an in-app camera (over 1,000 filters) and monetization tools: fans could gift an in-app currency called 'Lits' to creators, creators could earn through peer-to-peer payments, premium content subscriptions and brand deals, and keep 100% of what followers paid (creators paid $10/month). The app deliberately had no ad model and no porn, positioning as a safe, inclusive place for creators to monetize.
