01 / WHAT IT BUILT
What the company did
Juniper was a London-based insurtech startup founded in 2023 by Ambra Zhang and Sam Pratt, offering reproductive health insurance to employers. Dubbed 'insurance for genitals,' it aimed to fill gaps in private medical insurance for reproductive health: discovery (consultations, tests and screening), treatment and family planning, covering PCOS, endometriosis, IVF, egg freezing, menopause, erectile dysfunction, gender dysphoria and more. It raised £1.5 million in pre-seed funding led by Insurtech Gateway (with 2100 Ventures, Exceptional Ventures, Heartfelt and angels), targeted employers with 250+ staff, and ran a pilot phase to gather claims data for its risk calculator. In 2025 it was acquired by Fertifa, joining its reproductive health benefits platform.
