01 / WHAT IT BUILT
What the company did
FameGame was a live, interactive TV-show app for smartphones built by CrowdAmp Inc. and co-founded by chess streamer Alexandra Botez and Ruben Mayer-Hirshfeld. Pitched as reality TV on your phone, it was a gamified social engagement platform: users submitted self-shot talent videos for weekly challenges (dance, lip-syncing, and more), viewers voted for their favorites, and the top entries were featured in a live show hosted daily at 5:00 PM PT. The company went through Y Combinator's Summer 2018 batch; YC lists its status as Inactive.
