01 / WHAT IT BUILT
What the company did
Frogmetrics was a Y Combinator Summer 2008 startup that placed touchscreen devices in restaurants, stores and other physical locations to collect customer feedback on the spot. It built custom firmware for the Nokia n810 internet tablet that asked customers a few questions at the point of sale and could capture contact information for lead generation; data across locations was aggregated and analyzed for trends. The company raised a seed round from Y Combinator, Founders Fund and Alexis Ohanian.
