01 / WHAT IT BUILT
What the company did
Assemble was an early-stage compensation management startup founded in 2020 by Enrique Esclusa and Lisa Wallace. It built a 'system of engagement for compensation decisions' that assembled all compensation and workforce data — typically scattered across spreadsheets and disparate payroll, finance and HR systems — into one central location, making it accessible, actionable and easy to understand for stakeholders. The goal: decisions that were competitive enough to hire and retain people, yet financially responsible, fair and equitable.
