01 / WHAT IT BUILT
What the company did
The Delaware Data Innovation Lab (DDIL) was a Wilmington, Delaware-based nonprofit data lab launched in December 2020 by data science company CompassRed with a $2 million New Castle County CARES Act grant. It paired community organizations - nonprofits, hospitals and universities - with data scientists and engineers to solve COVID-19-adjacent problems: housing insecurity, economic stability and educational equity. Early projects included an eviction tracker, a FAFSA completion dashboard and a wastewater dashboard.
