01 / WHAT IT BUILT
What the company did
gigl (GiGL) is a London-based video-first job platform tackling hiring in hospitality, retail and events. Candidates apply with a 60-second video instead of a CV, collapsing the application, phone screening and first-round interview into a single step, while employers respond with their own 60-second intro videos. Founded by Dan Hudson with Christian Ayerst and James Hudson, the platform was used by employers such as Tortilla, Subway, Hard Rock Hotel and Premier Inn, and reported more than 100,000 downloads.
