What the company did
Netography was an Annapolis, Maryland-based cloud security startup founded in 2018 by Barrett Lyon and Dan Murphy. It built a cloud-native network defense platform, Netography Fusion, providing real-time detection and response to anomalies and threats across hybrid, multi-cloud and on-premises networks from a single console, without deploying sensors, agents or taps, by ingesting and analyzing flow and DNS logs across AWS, GCP, Azure and OCI. Backed by Bessemer Venture Partners, SYN Ventures, Andreessen Horowitz and others, the company raised $47.6 million, including a $45 million Series A in November 2021. On October 2, 2025, Vectra AI acquired Netography for an undisclosed sum and rebranded its Fusion product as Vectra Fusion.
