01 / WHAT IT BUILT
What the company did
Moxion was an Auckland-based film technology company founded in 2015 by Hugh Calveley and Michael Lonsdale. It built a cloud-based digital dailies platform that let actual footage, with metadata, be viewed within seconds after capture — securely, by anyone on a team anywhere in the world — turning dailies into instant, easy-to-use HDR moving-image workflows for Hollywood productions, TV shows and commercials. Trusted on projects from Hollywood blockbusters to indie breakouts, Moxion was named Hi-Tech Start-up Company of the Year at the 2021 Hi-Tech Awards; on January 19, 2022 it was acquired by Autodesk (terms undisclosed).
