What the company did
Truepill was a Hayward, California digital pharmacy platform founded in 2016 by Sid Viswanathan and Umar Afridi. Operating as API-as-a-product and B2B2C, it offered virtual pharmacy, pharmacy fulfillment and pharmacy APIs that let businesses integrate digital health and pharmacy offerings into their own platforms — powering direct-to-consumer programs for partners including contraception, metabolic health and telehealth brands. It raised over $255 million across multiple rounds at a unicorn valuation. On October 1, 2024 LetsGetChecked completed its acquisition of Truepill for a reported $525 million.
