01 / WHAT IT BUILT
What the company did
Fabricly was a New York-based online marketplace for apparel sourcing, founded in 2010 by Ari Helgason and CTO Tom Riley as a Y Combinator Winter 2010 company. It took the risk out of sourcing apparel manufacturers and materials: brands, independent designers, and retailers could research manufacturers and bid out sourcing jobs to a wide-reaching network. The company's own site now states that Fabricly has shut down.
