Edusight
The business, the turning points, and the decisions behind them.
01 / WHAT IT BUILT
What the company did
Edusight developed tools that let teachers record students’ learning through notes, photos and audio, then analyze the collected classroom data.
02 / Edusight FAILURE REASONS
Failure factors supported by the current evidence
Edusight struggled with the economics of the K-12 market: school sales cycles were long and fragmented, and institutions showed limited willingness to pay for analytics software. It faced well-funded competitors in a crowded market and could not win deals fast enough to sustain the business. In 2017 its technology assets were sold to Canadian educational publisher Nelson, and the company ceased operations.
