01 / WHAT IT BUILT
What the company did
Sanitas Health was a Los Angeles digital-health startup founded in 2021 by Rodney Bell, former co-founder of the women's telehealth platform Butterflly Health. It built an AI-driven mental health platform offering culturally and gender-sensitive coaching and counseling for historically marginalized communities and Medicaid populations — combining peer support groups, text-based coaching and one-on-one teletherapy with a 'therapy last versus therapy first' philosophy. The company was backed by StartUp Health, Right Side Capital Management, Jumpstart Foundry, Nex Cubed and MassChallenge.
