Dropp
The business, the turning points, and the decisions behind them.
01 / WHAT IT BUILT
What the company did
Dropp, founded in Berlin in 2021 by Alessa Vogler, Philip Braun and Nicolas Pörschke (operating company Spokebase GmbH), was a green same-day delivery service for e-commerce: merchants stored goods with Dropp and its e-bike couriers delivered them within three hours of ordering, integrating into the shops' own checkout. It grew to about 100 people across five locations with annualized revenue scaling into seven figures, before a planned late-2022 funding round failed and the company filed for insolvency.
02 / Dropp FAILURE REASONS
Failure factors
Worsening financing conditions prevented Dropp from completing a planned funding round. Investor talks failed in November 2022, forcing an insolvency filing.
03 / EVENT HISTORY
Events in the structured record
- Bankruptcy
Spokebase, which operated Dropp, entered provisional insolvency proceedings in December 2022.
- Operations ended
Dropp stopped operations in January 2023 after failing to find an investor; its software was sold to ARIVE to help repay creditors.
