01 / WHAT IT BUILT
What the company did
Cosmos Robotics was a Brookhaven, Georgia startup founded by Eddie Massey III and Sebastian Arias that built telesitter robots to assist nurses and CNAs. Its robot, Aby, was designed for assisted living facilities and hospital units: it could monitor for falls, track patient location, automate communication and virtual visits between residents and their loved ones, perform administrative rounding, tele-sit high-risk recovery patients with humans monitoring in the background, and deliver small items within units. Founder Eddie Massey also co-founded Catalyst Robotics, a startup applying autonomous vehicles to rural healthcare access.
