What the company did

banqUP was a Polish-Belgian fintech founded in 2016 in Antwerp by CEO Krzysztof Pulkiewicz. It operated a PSD2-ready digital smart bank for small and medium enterprises, offering business current accounts, MasterCards and open-banking services - account integration, creditworthiness assessment, identity confirmation and liquidity management - delivered through web and mobile dashboards, in partnership with German solarisBank AG. The platform was designed as a one-stop shop combining core banking products with integrated fintech services for underserved SMEs. In January 2021 it was acquired by Euronext Brussels-listed Unifiedpost Group, which absorbed its open-banking and data analytics capabilities into its pan-European SME platform.

3. 2021
   Acquired by Unifiedpost Group

   On January 8, 2021 Unifiedpost Group completed the acquisition of 100% of BanqUP SRL (announced December 23, 2020), adding its open-banking and neo-bank capabilities to Unifiedpost's pan-European SME platform; the deal was financed 50% in shares and 50% in cash at a valuation of 7.5x BanqUP's 2020 revenue.
