01 / WHAT IT BUILT
What the company did
Vaarst was a Bristol-based subsea technology company launched in 2021 as a spin-off from the remotely operated vehicle firm Rovco. It developed artificial intelligence and autonomy technology for offshore robotics — including the SubSLAM X2 data-collection system delivering live 3D point clouds — sold as retrofits to existing remotely operated vehicles and as integrations into new robotic vehicles, initially targeting the offshore energy survey and asset-inspection market.
