01 / WHAT IT BUILT
What the company did
Beekeeper was a Swiss enterprise software company founded by ETH Zurich graduates, led by CEO Cristian Grossmann. It built a mobile app that let frontline workers - retail staff, hospitality teams, airport crews and others without company email or desks - communicate with the rest of the company, access tools, processes and systems, and do their best work. Customers included Swiss retailer Coop and Heathrow airport. On July 1, 2025 Beekeeper announced a merger with French business software provider LumApps (maker of intranet software used by Airbus and LVMH), backed by British private equity group Bridgepoint, creating a new unicorn worth about $1.1 billion with around $150 million in combined revenue and roughly 600 employees worldwide.
