01 / WHAT IT BUILT
What the company did
Trigger (later known as Trigger.io) was a cross-platform mobile development platform founded by Amir Nathoo. It began as the web bookmarking tool WebMynd and pivoted to 'Forge', a framework letting web developers write an app once in HTML5, CSS or JavaScript and ship it to Android, iOS and desktop browsers, with a JavaScript API for native features like camera and notifications. A Y Combinator company with teams in San Francisco and London, it monetized on a freemium model and counted hundreds of developers as paying customers.
